Angry Birds Cupcakes

Amidst the busy schedule with the Hari Raya Kek Lapis orders, I managed to squeeze in some time to fulfill an order from a faithful cake lover, Mrs. Gloria Choong. She wanted some Angry Birds Cupcakes for her son, who is an avid fan of the infamous game!

The cupcakes themselves were of moist chocolate flavour.

Once again, thank you, Mrs. Choong! :)

Maiden Appearance

After weeks of persistent persuasions from a few of my closest buddies, I have finally decided to start this blog, dedicating it to my baking and cake decorating adventures.

I have not just started on this but many, many years ago. Say, some 20 years? Yuppies! Am that old! Well, the art of baking and cake decorating has long been in my family’s legacy of cooks and bakers. Long story short, it has nestled somewhat comfortably in me. Over the years, I have on many occasions take on orders from family members and friends for their bakery (more like cakery) needs but that was it. With 2 growing up monsters around me, and a horrendous professional schedule, I had my hands full! So, I have resorted to leisurely bake during the weekends (in some instances, midnight!). With that said, limiting the orders to a dissatisfaction of many…until today! Well, theoretically speaking…

With the Hari Raya festival coming, I have decided to oblige a few faithful followers to take on their orders for Kek Lapis Lemon Buah2an and Kek Lapis Rempah. That announcement was made just after a few days into Ramadhan, and now, my weekends are all booked out for the Kek Lapis orders. [Alhamdullilah! God work in mysterious ways! Dapat beli baju raye…ngan kasut kot! :D]

So now, here I am, in my kitchen multi-tasking…layering the cakes and tweaking my new blog, which is now looking…okay lah…

Here are some of the pictures I managed to take with the mobile phone. Pardon the quality of the picture. I can't leave the oven out of my sight to get my DSLR (not that I have better skills using it :p). Like they say out of sight out of mind. LOL!

Freshly baked from the oven! They will take at least two hours of cooling time before they can be packed. I only use pure butter (Brand: Anchor) for all my cakes. And yes, all cakes will be baked from scratch ie. no cake mixes. Even for my cupcakes. I emphasize on quality.

Some more cakes in the oven. [Apesal gambar ni keluar kecik plak? hmmm...]

Anyways, I am going to finish baking the last two cakes and shall call it a day! [Total 8 today!]

Selamat berbuka to all and and have a magical weekend...(or whatever is left of it)!

Poof!!!
